THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMERS (TPE)

Thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) in particular, are processed with conventional equipment for thermoplastics, i.e., unlike rubber, which is a thermosetting elastomer, the desired properties of the finished product are achieved without vulcanization. Moreover, TPU offers higher mechanical properties than rubber. We are frequently asked questions like “Why your products are not black?” or “Is this better than rubber?” We would like to hereby give 10 (they are actually much more) reasons why we would rather have TPU:
1. Great tensile strength.
2. High tear resistance.
3. Very good damping capacity.
4. Excellent wear resistance.
5. High resistance to oils, fuels, solvents and chemicals.
6. Good elasticity at low temperatures.
7. Resistance to hydrolysis.
8. Easy coloring.
9. Higher processing rate.
10.100% recycling of process waste.
